The switch-over from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time happened this morning, with Saskatchewan again the notable exception.

Interestingly enough, the issue of wether or not Saskatchewan residents should move ahead their clocks one hour in the spring and back in the fall could have been on tomorrow's election ballot.

In the 2007 election campaign, the Saskatchewan Party promised a referendum on DST with this year's election, but Premier Brad Wall pulled the plug on those plans earlier this year after a government-commissioned survey showed strong support for the status quo. No parties have promised anything regarding Daylight Savings Time in this election campaign.

Just to remind you, as of today, Saskatchewan is now an hour behind Toronto, the same time as Manitoba, an hour ahead of Alberta, and two hours ahead of Vancouver. Daylight Savings Time returns on March 11, 2012.
