The southwest area has played host to a film crew over the past while.

Cast and crew from the full length movie have been filming in the communities of Shaunavon and Eastend, and at Cypress Hills Park.

Dionne Copland is the film's director. She explains the plot of the movie. "It's called "Cold Wind Blowing" and it's about a group of friends that goes up to a cabin, and they're having Christmas. It's a very little family oriented type of drama. But then, something is in the woods, and they don't have as much fun as they expected."

Copland has deep roots in the southwest, with close family living in Eastend.

The cast and crew were in Shaunavon this past Sunday morning at The Snack Shack, and filmed a couple scenes there. Copland says they were also at the Rink.

The film crew will now spend the next seven or eight days in the Cypress Hills filming.

"Cold Wind Blowing" will be out in mid 2018.
