Due to the hot weather and lack of rain in the last few weeks, seven R.M.s surrounding Swift Current have placed fire bans on their regions.

The R.M.s include Swift Current, Riverside, Gull Lake, Coulee, Whiska Creek, Webb, and Sask. Landing.

The ban will be in effect until further notice and is for all open fires, including fire pits and burning barrels.
