Fishing season arrived here in Southern Saskatchewan at the start of the month and you can expect lakes to be busy with the May long weekend here.

Saskatchewan Environment Fish Specialist Murray Koob says there aren't any changes to the limits this year.

"The limits are the same as they were last year. Some of the more popular species such as walleye, northern pike, and yellow perch remain unchanged. Walleye being four fish, northern pike being five, and yellow perch being twenty-five."

Fishing licenses are available at local vendors or through Ministry of Environment offices, as well as online.  An annual pass is $29, while a three-day pass is $14.
