March 14 was International Pi Day, and the ACTION group at the Gull Lake School had some fun being a part of it.

Marla Poisson is the Vice-Principal at the Gull Lake School and the ACTION supervisor. She explains what ACTION is all about. "ACTION is a service learning group. What we do is we believe that it is important for people, just any people, to be involved and support their larger communities, which means the world. The needs around us. You notice things that are missing and that you're gonna help fill that gap."

During the afternoon of March 14, the grade 12 students and some staff, 27 people in all, volunteered to have a pie in their face to support the ACTION group.

They raised money by asking other students, staff, and people in the community to place on bid on any of the volunteers.

Poisson said it was a wonderful fundraiser, raising just over $900, which will be donated to the Gull Lake Daycare and Habitat for Humanity.
