The Town of Shaunavon normally holds their annual Free Garbage Transfer Weekend in May.

The Free Garbage Transfer Weekend allows Shaunavon residents to dispose of items that are accepted at The Southwest Waste Management  Authority Regional Landfill.

Dumpsters are set up and residents can dispose of their goods, free of charge, and the town will haul the loads to the landfill.

Due to restrictions on the size of public gatherings, and health and safety concerns because of COVID-19, The Town of Shaunavon has re-scheduled their annual Free Garbage Transfer Weekend.

Since this initiative has been so well received by residents of the community, the Town of Shaunavon will aim to offer this service in the Fall, or when they are confident that the safety of the community and its staff will not be in jeopardy.
