The Government of Canada is facing a legal challenge for failing to take action on global warming.

     The Kyoto Protocol Implementation Act was passed in Parliament in June of this year.  However, Friends of the Earth, an advocacy environmental group, does not believe the government is addressing a need for the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

     CEO Beatrice Olivastri says the devastation of forests by the Red Pine Beetle, and the melting of the Northern Permafrost are current examples of global warming in Canada.

     The Review was filed by Canadian Lawyer Chris Paliare and EcoJustice to the Federal Court of Canada.
