$1.12 million in provincial money has been designated to battle Internet Child Exploitation.

The funding comes on the heels of the alleged luring and abduction of a Swift Current area teen by an Ontario man.

The funds will go to the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, which is something Premier Brad Wall says is extremely important.  He says the new government wants to make the prevention of child exploitation a priority and provide families with every protection possible from internet predators.

Wall says special police forces have had great success in other jurisdictions, citing the US as an example of success.  He says the units go out to find and arrest predators on a pro-active basis.

The funding allows the four existing officers in the ICE Unit to continue on a permanent basis, and adds an additional seven officers to the service.
