The Green Party of Saskatchewan is set to go for the election on November 7th.  The party has released a full slate of potential candidates for when the official campaign starts later this month.

While there are candidates for each of the 58 ridings in the province, leader Victor Lau admits some of their candidates will be simply paper candidates and not very active in the campaigning.

"We unfortunately has to have a leadership race and that took up two weeks of  organizing, which I personally felt would have been better spent finding local candidates."

Out of their 58 potential candidates nearly 20 will be parachute or paper candidates - party members who simply allow their name to be placed on the ballot and won't really campaign.

We say potential because Lau says if any local party supporter wants to run, they can contact the party and take over one of their spots without a local candidate.

Amanda Huxted is their candidate in Swift Current.
