Friday a fundraiser was held in the town of Gull Lake, featuring a pair of skilled pianists.

The Dueling Pianos show features two performers, Shane Young, and Jenesse Graling who perform a piano-based stage show.

The Kreative Kidz Early Learning Centre hosted the event at the Gull Lake Recreation Hall, hoping to raise funds for their organization.

Kalie Migneault, a board member with the centre, said that funds raised at the show will go towards upgrades that they've done to the facility.

"We've been chipping away at the cost over time, of course, early childhood education facilities fall into a black hole, unfortunately, we have to have the commercial standards of a school and a health care facility," she said, adding that they don't receive funding for making changes to accommodate those needs.

Prior to the show, Migneault said that they were looking forward to community support at the show, citing the fact the community has already volunteered and sponsored the daycare.

"It has been a very emotional ride the last few years for our board, but the fact that we've done it is absolutely amazing, we are very proud of ourselves and all the thanks goes back again to the community."

She commented on how the daycare benefits the community.

"People like myself, young people that have kids, we wouldn't be able to work in Swift, or work at all if we didn't have a daycare."

The early learning centre employs 14 people, and Migmeault says that while working there, they can earn a fair wage and education for full-time employees.

Migneault said that they had sold around 150 tickets to the showing before it began, while admittance at the door was also possible.
