Halloween is a time for scary costumes, but also an opportunity for scary situations to occur.

St. John Ambulance reminds families to be safe this Halloween, says Training Centre Manager, Jan Loeppky-Mackay.

"Always be safe when you are going from house to house, and as drivers that are driving around the city, look out for little kids that might dart across the street. Wearing bright coloured costumes would also be a good idea."

"Just being aware of having the children eat the candy prior to the parents checking it, and of course the hard candies and choking hazards," she adds.
