A ramped-up effort for the Haunted Town of Lil Sur Mur leading up to and including Halloween this year resulted in a good bit of money raised for a couple local organizations.

Organizer Andy Keys said it was a good move going from two nights last year to five nights, spread over two weekends and Halloween Wednesday, this year.

A haunted house, wagon rides, and ghoul bus were scaring passengers out at Springfield, and they had 35 people dressed up to scare the people along for the ride.

$6,400 was raised. A little was spent on a party for those involved, and a little over $3,000 will be going to both the Salvation Army and the SPCA in Swift Current.
