The Canada Revenue Agency is again calling on volunteers to help out with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program this tax season.

Debbie Johnson, the CRA's Manager of Communications, says the program helps those with low to moderate incomes and simple tax situations who can't afford to have someone file their tax returns for them: "It might be a senior, a student who's never sone a tax return before, a new Canadian, but basically people with straightforward situations."

The program has been around for just more than 30 years, and Johnson says it has had a good response over the last few years from volunteers in Swift Current. "We have had volunteers down in that area, and we very much appreciate their assistance."

Training sessions for volunteers will be held in February, and if you're interested in helping out, you can call the C-R-A at 1-888-780-7908, or visit the Canada Revenue Agency's Website
