It's your chance to get an up close look at the arts community in the southwest.

The Highway 1 Studio Tour runs this weekend with five stops from Rush Lake to Morse.

"It's a self-guided tour of artists," said event secretary Carol Furman. "Where we work and where we get our inspiration. Each stop has some artists added too."

There are five stops and fifteen artists. It's something that can occupy as much or as little of your day as you want.

"We've got cookies and coffee at each stop," Furman said. "There's places in Herbert where someone can get something to eat. I know some people have taken picnic lunches along."

"It's not that far to go I guess it just depends how long you want to take at each stop."

Furman noted they've had a very strong reception to the event each year which displays all sorts of different art and artists.
