Our section of the Trans-Canada Highway is about to get greener. Swift Current is one of of 21 recipients of a 15 thousand dollar TD Green Streets grant.

Executive Director of TD Friends of the Environment, Mary Dejardins said,  “They had a great program about planting trees in open spaces around the Trans-Canada.” Dejardins adds that, “They also have some great community involvement, so they're going to be working on this project with groups including the Southwest Naturalists, Friends of the Walkway and a new group called Go Green”

The simple goal of the overall TD Green Streets program is to bring more trees to Canadian municipalities
