A vandalism in Hodgeville has a local property owner scrambling to get things repaired before the frost sets in..

The Hodgeville Skool Inn & Hub was damaged as rocks were thrown through seven of the historic location's windows.

The building was previously a school in the community of only around 170, and also contains all of Saskatchewan's three provincial flags signed by their creators.

Gail Hapanowicz, who owns the Skool Inn & Hub with her husband, said that since the windows were so old, it will be a lengthy process to get them repaired.

"They don't make those kinds of frames anymore, so now my husband has to take off all of those frames, scrape off all the glue and muck that has been there for 50 years, and not damage them, because they don't make these anymore so he has to be very careful, and then piece it all back together all before the snow flies, and my husband is almost blind."

Hapanowicz also said that because the Skool Inn & Hub showcase three Saskatchewan flags signed by each of their creators, the inn draws many people to Hodgeville.

"I've had lots of people come from Saskatoon, Regina, and around the area and they'll make their way there, I have a guestbook and people sign it, anyone who comes here just loves it."

Hapanowicz is planning a celebration for the 50th anniversary of the current Saskatchewan flag next year, and is hoping to invite the creator of the flag, Anthony Drake, to Canada.
