The Historic Reesor Ranch located in Cypress Hills is in the running for a national tourism award.

The ranch originally established in 1904 is also a designated provincial heritage property.

Amenities offered at the ranch include five different lodging situations, a bed and breakfast, licenced grill, as well as ATV and horse tours.

The iconic vacation location has also won a tourism award from Saskatchewan in the past.

The nomination for the award comes just before the tourism awards are scheduled to take place in November.

The award that the ranch is a finalist for is the Small or Medium-Sized Business of the Year Award, but not without some competition.

Sea to Sky Air from British Columbia, and Target Tours from Prince Edward Island are the two businesses that are also in the running.

Theresa Reesor, who owns and operates the ranch with her husband Scott, said that she was ecstatic about the opportunity to be nominated for the award.

"I mean even being a finalist is unbelievable, like I feel like a winner already, the recognition that we are already getting is amazing."

This year the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, who present the awards, will be hosting the event in Gatineau, Que.

When asked about how she felt when she found out when they were nominated, Reesor said that she couldn't believe it.

"I'm still finding it hard to wrap my head around, but I think it'll come to reality here as the date gets closer, and we are going to go to the awards, so we're going to fly to Gatineau."

Reesor also said that she was impressed with all of the support that the ranch has been getting from the province.

"The support that we have with the Cypress Hills destination area and Sask Tourism who are so behind us, we can't say enough about their support, it's just phenomenal."
