A truly touching and emotional tribute to a local Shaunavon ball player this past Saturday.

A total of seven teams from Shaunavon, Gull Lake, LaFleche and Morse attended the Lori Pritchard Memorial Fastball Tournament at the Shaunavon Ball Diamonds.

The event was held in honour of the former pitcher for the Shaunavon Slammers Ladies Fastball team, and team member and one of the organizers of the Tournament, Shelley Rhodes spoke about Lori's accomplishments.

"Lori Pritchard's been an outstanding, well-respected community member, giving back and supporting their community in 25 years of nursing. She was an active volunteer in the community, including teaching Sunday School at the Center Street United Church, She was a Board Member on the Silver Blades for many years, and coaching girls volleyball, softball and hockey. Lori's played for 24 years in Shaunavon displaying true sportsmanship on and off the field."

The far north diamond (Diamond number 2) at the Ball Park has been officially named Pritchard Field in honour of Lori, and her family, friends and ballplayers gathered Saturday for the sign unveiling and short ceremony in her honour.
