The extremely hot weather and dry conditions over the last week and this past weekend have kept Shaunavon Fire Fighters very busy.

On Thursday August 9th crews were called out to a combine fire eight miles west of Shaunavon at about 3:25 p.m.

Shaunavon Fire Chief, Merrick Goldstein, says there was extensive damage to the combine header.

Then on Friday August 10th at approximately 3:15 p.m. crews responded to a ditch fire by Simmie.

And on Saturday August 11th Shaunavon was called to give assistance to the Eastend Fire Department as they battled a field fire two miles north of Eastend.

Goldstein says they were called to Eastend to assist due to the proximity of the fire to the community.
