 The number of new home starts in Swift Current climbed considerably between 2010 to 2011.

Stats from Canada Mortgage and Housing show multiple family homes led the way to a 79.7% growth last year.

That was the largest percentage increase in the province. Saskatoon came in second with 34.6% more home construction from the previous year.

CMHC says a growing economy and population are increasing demand for houses across the province.
