The Green Party has their candidate in place for the Swift Current Constituency.

Amanda Huxted is the latest to take on Premier Brad Wall in the Swift Current Constituency for the upcoming provincial election, running for the Green Party of Saskatchewan.

Huxted ran previously for the Greens in the 2006 Federal Election, and believes the party has some good points when it comes to environmental and poverty issues.

She is also hopeful that the most recent Federal Election, where Elizabeth May became the first elected Green Party MP, could lead to a similar breakthrough in Saskatchewan.

The provincial Green Party recently lost a leader in Larissa Shasko who defected to the NDP, but Huxted says they should be able to move forward with a new leader.

Huxted asks voters to read up and inform themselves on what the Green Party has to offer before making their choice on November 7.
