The warmer spring weather is bringing some unsavoury elements out of the woodwork.

Swift Current RCMP are searching for a 1998 Black Dodge Durango after it was stolen from the 300 block of 10th avenue NW on Saturday night.

"We have had a number of vehicles being entered and items from those vehicles being stolen," said Sergeant Michelle Kenke. "It's been an on going problem since 2008. It died down during the winter, but of course they're on the increase now with people out nad about in the warmer weather."

Police are reminding us to keep our doors locked and to remove any valuables from our cars.

"We live in a relatively safe community," said Kenke. "This hasn't been something that the public has done all that much of... locking their doors."

Anyone with information on the theft of the Durango or any other break in can contact local RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
