Residents gathered at the Credit Union iplex Auditorium for the first public consultation meeting for the integrated facility concept on Wednesday.

Last week, the public consultation process into a conceptual integrated facility in Swift Current began with a public meeting.

The City, Cypress Health Region, and the Chinook and Holy Trinity School Divisions are looking for public input on the facility that could include two schools, a long-term care centre and various recreation facilities.

P3 Architecture is the firm helping the city with the consultation process. Principal Architect James Youck says the turnout for the first meeting on Wednesday was outstanding, with a good cross-section of age groups and demographics, and the feedback was very good with a lot of good questions and concerns.

The meeting had boards set up in four different locations displaying information on the concept, and giving residents a chance to give feedback and concerns. Youck says the boards will be set up at other events and locations throughout the consultation process.

The next public meeting will be held on September 7th.
