One of Swift Current's busiest intersections is getting an upgrade.

The corner of Central Avenue North and Robert Street along the North Service Road can been an area of particular congestion.

"The main portion of that upgrade is the development of turning lanes of both the east and westbound lanes in that intersection" said Mitch Minken, General Manager of Infrastructure and Operations for the City.
"So allowing for movement of vehicles off of the service road, either through or onto the service road, and out onto Highway 1."

Minken says the curbs have all been poured and the deep infrastructure has been dealt with. The last steps are paving and moving in the traffic lights, which will happen over the next couple of weeks.
