Work continues to take place in the heart of Swift Current's downtown core

It's been a lengthy process to improve the intersection of Central Avenue North and Chaplin Street in Swift Current.

Over the past few weeks, the intersection has been milled and had electrical work done, and will have new curbing, turning radiuses and traffic signals.

Engineering services Manager Trevor Feicht says they hope most of the work can be finished before the pavers return this fall.

The intersection was closed earlier this morning but has since re-opened, and wil be closed again from midnight to 8:00am Thursday and Friday to allow crews to replace catch basins.
