Manitoba's Justice Department is reviewing Judge Catherine Carlson's decision to sentence Graham James to 2 years in prison for sexually assaulting former Bronco Todd Holt and former NHL star Theoren Fleury.
The sentence was handed down yesterday in Winnipeg and has garnered criticism nation wide since for being too lenient on the former Bronco Coach.
The Crown was looking for a 6 year prison sentence while the defense wanted a 12 to 18 month conditional sentence not involving prison.
With the 2 year sentence James would be eligible for day parole in September and eliqible for full parole in November.
There is a 30 day window for the Crown to review the sentence.
