The TELUS JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes is set to go tomorrow here in Swift Current.

The cross-canada fundraiser has already taken place in some communties and is well on the way to reaching its total goal of $7.7 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, as they look to find a cure for Type I Diabetes.

Spokesman Dennis Perrault says everyone is looking forward to this year's Swift Current Walk this Saturday at the Rec Centre, with registration at 1:00pm and the walk beginning at 2:00pm. He adds they are encouraging all participants to dress up in a Halloween costume, and they will have some games and activities as well.

Perrault says the Swift Current walk has a local goal of raising $35,000 for JDRF, and you can make a pledge by calling Donna Gatzke at 778-3779, or email swtype1sharps@gmail.com.

Ken Audette talked with Dennis Perrault and Noah Steinley, a 9-year-old boy with Type I Diabetes, on the Country Music Radio Morning Show on Wednesday.
