Music lovers in Saskatchewan will have a lot to look forward to come 2013.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Regina and Moose Jaw will co-host the Juno Awards, the awards that acknowledge excellence in the Canadian music industry.

It's the first time Saskatchewan hosted the awards since Saskatoon did in 2007, and it's also the first time ever that two cities will combine to host the event.

Mike McNaughton, Chair of the Host Committee, says that going into their bid to host the event, they were very confident.

The provincial government provided $1.5 million in funding, Regina $350,000, and Moose Jaw $50,000, with the costs being balanced on a per capita scale.

The 2007 Junos in Saskatoon returned an estimated $10 million to the local and provincial economy.
