It's Kidsport Month in Saskatchewan... shining a spotlight on an organization that makes sure money isn't a barrier to kids playing sports.

Swift Current chapter president Kevin Patenaude says they don't have anything special planned, but they always have a need for equipment, “If theres anybody out there that has some equipment that maybe their kids have grown up and left and they've got hockey equipment or ball equipment they could donate it to us by simply dropping it off at the Sports Trader.”

“What we do at Kidsport is raise dollars so that we can make sure if theres a financial barrier that kids wouldn't be able to participate, we'll go and we'll pay for the registration and make sure the kid has equipment,” said Patenaude when describing what Kidsport does.

Patenaude says they're still working on a plan for their next breakfast event that will come when they line up an appropriate guest.
