Unwanted Christmas trees will be easily disposed of this weekend

Members of our local Kinsmen club will be picking up those unwanted Christmas Tree this Saturday.

Swift Current Kinsmen Club President, Brent Stechyshyn says the collection is free of charge but anyone that wants their tree picked up should have their tree bright and early.

"Sometimes we get a call the next week saying we missed a tree, we just want to make sure everyone knows to have them out by 10:00 am. That way it's easier for us to do our job," Stechyshyn says.

And the Kinsmen are looking for volunteers to help with tree pick-up this year as well, according to Stechyshyn. "It's a lot of fun. Sometimes we don't have as many guys to help us out but if somebody wants to come and give us a hand they're more than welcome to meet us at the Lions Hall at 10:00 am, hop in the truck and bring a pair of gloves," he says.

The annual Christmas Tree Pickup has been a local staple for the Kinsmen for over a decade.
