The Kyle Mighty Novice Elks receive their tickets to next Friday's Swift Current Broncos game from SaskEnergy Thursday at the Kyle Community Sports Centre.

The Kyle Mighty Novice Elks will be VIPs at a Swift Current Broncos game next week, after winning a contest from SaskEnergy.

The Elks were one of 10 teams chosen out of 67 entries in the contest, held in conjunction with next week's fifth-annual SaskEnergy Hockey Day in Saskatchewan, who will all see WHL games throughout the province next weekend. They were presented with their tickets to next Friday's Broncos game against the Edmonton Oil Kings before hitting the ice for practice at the Kyle Community Sports Centre.

Trish Watier, Assistant Manager of Community Relations for SaskEnergy, says this year's Hockey Day in Saskatchewan will be hosted in Melville on January 21st: "Over the years, we've selected host teams, who in turn, use this as an opportunity to raise money for their local programs and their rink."

Danny Williams, the coach of the Novice Elks, says they entered the contest by submitting an essay about the team: "The wife bugged me to write something, so she wrote the essay and we sent it in, and we were hoping we had a chance to win." He added the kids are very excited, saying that some of them haven't even seen a Bronco game.

The Eston Novice Ramblers will join the Elks in attending next Friday's Bronco game. The other winners of the contest were from Dinsmore, Eatonia/Leader, Ochapowace, Preeceville, Glaslyn, Watrous/Imperial, Kinistino and Tisdale.
