After nearly a century in business the TD Canada Trust - Kyle Branch will be closing it's doors later this year.

The closure of the 92-year-old bank is due in large part to the evolution of banking, with the increasing rates of people using their computers and mobile devices to manage their finances.

However, despite the closure, the TD Canada Trust - Kyle Branch will be merging with the TD Canada Trust - Swift Current Branch. Upon completion of the merge, all services will be offered out of the Swift Current Branch.

"We will work with our customers and businesses to try to make this transition as easy as possible to the new branch and to continue using all the banking options available to them like ATM, phone and internet banking," TD Canada Trust said in a statement.

TD Canada Trust had been monitoring the overall decline in everyday transactions at the Kyle Branch.

"We spend a significant amount of time evaluating a combination of factors, including customer traffic and behaviour. After a careful and in-depth review of the customer traffic patterns, we've made the decision to merge," TD Canada Trust said in their statement obtained by the Swift Current Online Newsroom.

The TD Canada Trust - Kyle Branch will be officially closed as of August 25th at 4:30 p.m.
