Energy and Resources Minister, Bill Boyd

The southwest led the way in the October sale of Crown oil and gas rights in Saskatchewan.

The Swift Current area had the most bids at 4.3 million dollars, part of a strong sale for the province which brought in 13.1 million dollars in revenue.

Energy and Resources Minister Bill Boyd says even though oil prices have come off lately, he believes the sector will see continued growth in Saskatchewan.

The largest single-parcel sale was also made in the southwest, with a one-million-dollar price paid by Federated Co-op for a 259-hectare parcel of land near Gull Lake.
