Swift Current Rural RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision late last night, just west of Swift Current on the number 1 highway.

At approximately 10:40 Tuesday night, RCMP responded to a collision involving a semi-tractor trailer and a tractor about 13 kilometers west of Swift Current.

At the time of the collision both east bound and west bound lanes of the Trans-Canada were shut down, however, since then, all lanes have been re-opened.

The driver of the semi, a 60 year old female from Ontario and a 57 year old male passenger were transported to the Hospital in Swift Current with minor injuries.

The operator of the tractor was a 34 year old male from Alberta. 

He was transported to Hospital in Swift Current with undisclosed injuries.

The Semi and trailer started on fire and burnt.

Both the Semi Unit and Tractor were left in the ditch until morning and are now being removed.
