Leadership debates for the Saskatchewan Party kick off next month. It's something new for the party, as Brad Wall has been at the helm since he became leader in 2004 - when he was the only candidate.

Sask Party President James Thorsteinsen will be the moderator for all six debates, including the first on October 19 at the Days Inn in Swift Current.

Sask Party Executive Director Patrick Bundrock said it's a very exciting time for the Party.

"We've had great feedback from members province-wide that they're looking forward to these debates and that they know they'll be engaging," he said. "The structure of the debate will see that questions will be put forward to each candidate from members within each region."

The debates are only open to Sask Party members and credentialled media. On October 19 at the Days Inn things start at 7 p.m.
