Saskatchewan's Lieutenant Governor Gordon Barnhart

Looking for something to do as part of your New Year celebration Sunday?

The Lieutenant Governor is inviting you to spend New Year's Day at Government House in Regina for the annual New Year's Day Levee.

Lieutenant Governor Dr. Gordon Barnhart says this year's Levee is a special one: "We'll be handing out Diamond Jubilee lapel pins. This will be the first time these pins will be handed out and they are to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen. In 2012, it'll mark 60 years of her being on the throne, so it's really an amazing accomplishment."

The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Barnhart will be in attendance to exchange holiday greetings, and refreshments and entertainment will be provided.

The Levee is open to everyone and is free to attend, and runs from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
