highway driving

This Labour Day weekend people can expect a big increase in traffic on the highways as warmer then normal temperatures and the fact it is the last weekend of the summer will have people traveling all over the province.

CAA wants to remind motorists everywhere that they should take extra caution while driving this weekend.

"Avoid distracted driving," said Christine Niemczyk with CAA. "If you do need to make a phone call or even need to check your navigation system, pull over when safe to do so or appoint somebody in your car and they can be a communications or navigation buddy and let them look at the directions or make the calls while the driver is driving and focus on the attention that is required."

Niemczyk added that checking vehicle fluids, tire pressure and general working condition are all important things to do before you travel to avoid getting yourself into a bad situation.
