In late September the Lyric Theatre applied for a grant to restore the building in time for its centennial next year. If awarded, the federal government would match the 500 thousand dollars raised by the Lyric Theatre.
Southwest Cultural Development Group President Gwen Uher updates the status of the grant application.
The 500 thousand dollars raised includes 100 thousand dollars of reserve money from the Lyric Theatre. The Lyric is now attempting to raise an additional 44 thousand dollars to replenish their reserve fund.
