A Winnipeg man running across Canada to support prostate cancer research is making his way through Saskatchewan, and will be in Swift Current later today.

Dr. Riley Senft is running to promote the importance of early detection of prostate cancer and raise money for research. He says prostate cancer hits home for him, and inspired him to do something about it:

Dr. Senft started his journey from Cape Spear, Newfoundland back on May 7, and says it's been an awesome experience, adding it's a great way to see Canada and a great way to meet people across the country.

Dr. Senft is running 7000 kilometres across Canada at a rate of about 70km per day, and is expected to arrive in Swift Current this afternoon.
