The highway in Maple Creek after the flood

The Trans-Canada Highway will be reduced to one-lane west of Maple Creek for much of today.

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure says the reduction is needed to do earth stabilization work as they perform permanent repairs of damage by flooding last summer.

The highway had been down to two lanes through much of this summer for the work.

It's expected that two-lane service will resume by late-afternoon.
