This week's announcement of a near 200 thousand dollar loss for the Swift Current Broncos last season has concerned the city's mayor. Jerrod Schaffer says the economic impact study was just more proof of how important the club is to the community.

The study done in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan concluded that the Broncos have an over 6 million dollar economic impact in the city every year. Schaffer is hopeful fans will step up and ensure the survival of the team.

Broncos Board Chairman Al Stewart has said they can't afford to lose 200 thousand dollars even for one more year.
