keystone pipeline

Saskatchewan's Energy Minister appears less than impressed with projections made by U.S. President Barack Obama, calling into question the number of jobs that the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline would likely create.

Obama says there is no evidence the project would generate the 20,000 jobs TransCanada has predicted.  Instead, he's suggesting it's more like 2,000.

Tim McMillan says, regardless of the numbers, the important thing is that Keystone will create a strong energy sector in North America.  If approved, the pipeline would carry crude oil from the Canadian oilsands and the Bakken shale in North Dakota to refineries on the U.S. gulf coast.
