Motorists might want to give themselves a bit more time if they're travelling on Highway 1 east towards Moose Jaw this month.

As work continues to complete the Chinook Power Station west of Swift Current, the Pasqua to Swift Current transmission line is also nearing its completion.

Starting today there will be lane restrictions and a reduced speed limit in areas down to 60 kilometres an hour.

We'll also see several short traffic stoppages from tomorrow through Saturday, weather depending, for a helicopter to string power lines across the highway.

Depending on how this Saskatchewan weather holds up, the final helicopter stringing is expected for February 19th to 22nd.

The Pasqua to Swift Current transmission line will bring juice from the new Chinook Power Station just west of Swift Current to customers around the province.
