More Hospital Disruptions In Shaunavon

The following is a statement from the Cypress Health Region on a series of disruptions of service throughout the month:

"The Shaunavon Hospital and Care Center will be experiencing a number of ‘temporary disruptions of service’ during the month of May, due to the unavailability of physician on-call services. 

The first disruption of the month will occur this evening, between the hours of 5:00 pm on Tuesday to 8:00 am on Wednesday morning.

A calendar has been developed to identify the currently-known scheduled disruptions at the facility – at this point, disruptions will be occurring every Tuesday and Thursday evening in the month of May.

During the periods when services are disrupted, there will be no emergency outpatient services or acute inpatient admissions available at the facility.  Long term care services will not be affected by the disruptions.

In the event of an emergency, the public are encouraged to call 911 and an ambulance will be immediately dispatched to assist with the emergency and transport to the nearest appropriate acute care emergency department.  For non-urgent situations, the public can call the provincial HealthLine 24 hours per day and they will be able to provide answers and advice … they can be contacted toll-free at 1-877-800-0002."
