The nicer weather has allowed motorcyclists to hit the road and SGI, along with the Saskatchewan Safety Council and the RCMP are looking to raise awareness about the importance of being safe.

Rebecca Rogoschewsky says both motorcycle riders and other drivers need to remember the rules of the road, watch out for each other and take the proper precautions. "We need to remember that even though motorcycles are smaller vehicles than cars or trucks, they still require just as much space as any of us driving a car of truck do."

In 2011, there were 287 collisions involving motorcycles in Saskatchewan resulting in 203 injuries and four fatalities.
