Both of the new schools to be built in Swift Current have names to go with them.
The Holy Trinity Catholic School Division announced that "All Saints Catholic School" will be the name for their pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 school, saying in a press release that the name signifies the potential of all students to become saints, and honours the original catholic schools in the city -- St. Patrick School, St. Joeseph Middle School, and St. Joan of Arc Academy.
The catholic school will be part of a joint-use education facility to be constructed near Cypress Regional Hospital with a new public pre-K to 8 school, which was named "École Centennial School" by the Chinook School Division this week. The facility is set to open in 2014, which is the 100-year anniversary of Swift Current becoming a city.
