The Saskatchewan New Democrats are concerned about possible cuts to programs and services in the budget to be presented later this month.

Acting NDP Leader John Nilson says he believes Premier Brad Wall doesn't appear to have the team to manage the economy in an even-handed way.

“We know that he's just had to appologize for allowing ideology to trump common sense as it relates to the essential services legislation. He's gone into a number of places dealing with the school financing and effectively has told schools, borrow more money at commercial rates, which costs all of us more rather than having the appropriate resources come from the provincial budget.”

As for the upcoming spring session, Nilson says the NDP will force the government to act for the people of the province, especially when it comes to issues like healthcare and education.
