NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter

Seven chapters covering everything from health care to rent control, resource royalties and paying down the debt. The NDP have released their platform in preparation for the final 2 weeks of the election campaign here in Saskatchewan.

Leader Dwain Lingenfelter says no matter what the other parties are saying, his plan is affordable even though his proposals would cost billions more, over a four year term.

"It's all within the income and gross at 4 per cent and the increase royalty changes that we're proposing to get, doubling from a nickel to a dime."

"Right now we're giving the Potash company 95 cents of every dollar of potash produced, while you and I keep a nickel", added Lingenfelter.

The platform includes increased spending on health care, education, creating new jobs and sharing resource royalties with First Nations. Lingenfelter says they've had a third party review the plan and says they have assured them that the plans are affordable.

The promises and commitments made, including offering affordable utilities and taxes, totals about $2.7 billion.
