The Saskatchewan New Democrats are promising to build 2500 public housing units over the next four years if elected on November 7th, and freeze public housing rental rates until a review is complete.

Party Leader Dwain Lingenfelter says Saskatchewan families are finding it harder to make ends meet with skyrocketing rent. The NDP says the housing promise will cost $250 million over four years.

Meanwhile, Premier Brad Wall attended the grand opening of a new recycling plant in Saskatoon while on the campaign trail Friday.

He says the SARCAN plant highlights two of the Saskatchewan Party's election priorities... improving recycling opportunities and creating opportunities for people with disabilities. SARCAN has more than 600 employees provincewide, most of whom are people with disabilities

But the NDP says the Sask Party is only recycling non-announcements. It says the Sask Party's election platform doesn't have any proposals to improve recycling and no new money for any environmental initiatives.
