The Town of Shaunavon Wellness and Leisure Committee recently held a contest to find a name for the town's new RV Campground located on ninth avenue by the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Center.

The new campground features 11 fully serviced sites and a Dumping Station, and cost approximately $90,000.

There was a real need for the new campground as Dana Dale, Director of Wellness and Leisure for the Town of Shaunavon, explains. "The main reason that they decided to build this new RV Park is because they felt that the Shawnee Campground had basically grown out of it. So, now there's larger RV's and that and those sites that are there couldn't accommodate lots of them."

Dale says the new campground has already seen some use.

The Wellness and Leisure Committee met on Monday and decided on the name "Jubilee Campground", which was submitted by Kyle Bennett. Kyle wins a free 2019 season pass for the Shaunavon Swimming Pool.
